Delightful Victorian pierced earrings.  Earrings were made in a double wall construction. Meaning hollow with a flat plate soldiered onto front cast piece which is the reason for tiny hole at base of back. Gold color is bright and even toned. If you look at earrings with a loupe you can see a bit of age graying on some rims. There has been a repair that is not noticeable when earrings worn. If you look at photo 4 you see an ear wire has been reattached to one earring with a small oval plate. With a loupe you can see it was done with lead solider. At the top rim (a hair less then 1/16" deep) of that earring you can also see a small spot of lead solider-photo 5. Don't know if this is a bit of over run from attaching plate or if when wire came off it left a tiny hole. We are not going to remove that dab of solider to find out. But again neither spot will ever been seen when earrings are worn. From top of wire to base earrings are a hair over 1 1/8" long. The actual earring piece is 1 1/16" long x 9/16" at widest point.
We are seniors and as my husband has health problems I try to only do errands, like Ebay shipping, on Tues. and Fridays.
