Description

A BEAUTIFUL and RARE PIECE OF MOTHER EARTH -
AN UNUSUAL variety of this gem that is not like the "normal" turquoise we Americans are used to seeing. Persian turquoise is shown without matrix, which is highly sought after in jewelry circles.
The best times for this gem (America's version) was the late 1960s when social awareness
held certain sway.
But once so-call native Indian jewelry started coming from Hong Kong and Taiwan treated with plastic,  the prices took a nose-dive.  Most of the mines in Arizona produces 1,500 pounds of the stone per week, eventually most of which was sent to Hong Kong.  However, Persia is to turquoise as Burma is to the ruby.  Deposits are found in Egypt, however,
ancient Persia has the finest sources of turquoise
to date.  The less matrix, the more highly prized.
Depending on the rarity of the stone, size, coloring, it can be priced from to retail, per carat weight.  Various colors of the gem  with design(s)/matrix)  can go for as much as - 0 per carat, retail.
The
measurements of this item
are:  TRIANGULAR, in shape, it is 25 x 22 mm, and 8.54 mm in height.  Total carat weight is 25.13 carats.  This is a natural stone and is NOT a doublet or triplet  (which is often used  to achieve the height of the stone (s)).
Various ways to wear this gemstone as jewelry are:   (1) rings, (2) pendant, (3) incorporated into a bracelet,  (4) and placed in the ear.  I tried to show this in the photographs.  The jewelry shown with the stone are not a part of the sale.
